In modern medical laboratories, or in research, the quality of the analysis results is critically dependent on the quality of the preanalysis. It is only through prior centrifugation of serum/plasma samples using separation gels or filters as diffusion barriers after blood collection in the medical laboratory that sample stability is guaranteed and the distortion of sensitive measurement parameters is prevented.
